May Moods 2023

May lookbook and theme has been really hard to nail down. In the same fashion as other months in 2023, May has run passed, and is almost over that quick.

There has been preparation, Mother’s Day, the Minneapolis Black MET Gala, Toussaint Morrison’s poetry and acoustic events (yes, I am a huge fan of him and his work) The Charlotte series, which has been all the buzz, as well as recent news events, I decided to seperate into current events, coming soon, as well as the May Journal which will fill in the blanks.

Runway at the Minneapolis Institute, the MET Gala for Minnesota Black Fashion Week. First Annual Event, and yes the featured designers made history that day.

Mood style is about inspiration with style, decor, food as well as promoting conversarion amongst people, making community, and as much as possible enjoying one’s life from a soul, and spirit perspective.

The older I get I realize people chase pavements looking for happiness and fulfillment, but they run away from themselves in the process leaving some to feel empty. The question remains, “Who are we trying to impress, leaving ourselves behind? Also, what are we running from?

Queen Charlotte, I’ve know aboit this historical queen for a long time, her color was always black. Her story hardly the romance the series potryayed. I thought the series was well made, with the exception a few parts that seemed reslly unnecessary, but I digress.

The true story of the queen however, was not as beautiful. She was improsioned in a lot of ways, and since her husband was mad, it was torturous at best. It is a lesson to ladies that the marriage must be heaven sent, or you risk living in hell on esrth with someone who has the power to destroy your life. Sad but true, chose wisely.

Today more than ever children  both young and old treat their parents as an afterthought, when they should be appreciated, as its not easy to navigate all that comes with raising children I want people to check on their Mother’s, and Dad’s, or those who stood in that place.

As a society we can see that things are getting troubling because parenting is falling to the waste side with the grown adults, because they reject the wisdom of their elders. It’s a pride and conceit that now their children are showing them, not good, I hope we can fix it. Society, well after the young Mr. Neely was choked to death by the army veteran while the whole train watched, I saw another video of a man singing about GOD, a black elder man, beat with a stilleto shoe in his head multiple times in New York, on a subway, and people just watched. Is it about race? Or is it about an apathetic society disensitized to seeing public brutality, and now stand unphased. In America, it’s “we the people”who are the power, so what say we? This is very concerning.

The mood for this month is the dance. The dance of knowledge and wisdom, life’s romance, having a prayer life, embracing wellness, and at last, letting your body be free to move and grove in spaces that can hold great things for you.

I believe the best is yet to come! That’s all for now, thank you for joining me. Until next time!
