I really love the options when it comes to people of color, cinema and network TV, one of my recent favorites is Survivor’s Remorse on STAR TV. I love the dynamic characters on this show, every single actor and actress holds their own on camera, and the writers of the show are genius. This show tackles issues in a way that black television has done for years, but this show upped the ante. They use popular culture and differing conversations from many stand points constantly as if the writer was careful not to indoctrinate the audience. Instead Survivor Remorse’s cast and crew created a space for dialogue on a variety of issues. The truth is I heavily recommend watching this show, the whole season every season, but if that is to much, just start with this clip.
