Summer Stories, People, Places and Spaces for me summer started off with so many events, style looks, that I did not get a chance to break down every event, or in some cases fully digest the affect said even had one. Since there has been so many, let’s start with a gallery to show in order each event

Part 1

May started with slow weekends, trips around the neighborhood to visit The Spyhouse Coffee House, Old School People by the Steeple Thrift one of my favorite places. Centro for tacos and cocktails, B. Thrift just in case I see a piece that brings the drama, then the long walk home

There is a park next to the Minneapolis institute of Arts, it is filled with trees and benches. It’s beautiful, I want to bring a book and a blanket and just chill on the bench with some lemonade a book and bagel sandwich and a magazine. I also want to go swimming this summer..

However afterwards was Mother’s Day, with Mom💕, and My sister’s Georgia’s bday the following weekend
Art Buddies had also come to its finale and closed for the summer. This time my art buddy Makenna had a vision, and very specific wants to put together her superhero costume. We stopped at nothing to see her vision come to life. It was a total momentous occasion. A special moment in time.

Afterwards, the after party for us big buddies ended at Black Coal Pizza for pizza and cocktails, and to say good bye until next season.

Next up, was the Art Festival, the seasons came in like a bang and if it was not for my painter and creative friend and an Art Buddy just like me, I would not have even known all the dates.

I do have a least favorite out of the Sculpture Garden Art Fair, Art A Whirl NE Art Fair, Stone Arch Art Fair, so far, I think the Loring Park Art Fair still has yet to happen, who knows?

Art a Whirl, because it requires a person to drive to loft apartments, and that’s too much on my resources. I did partially go, but it rained and I don’t drive, so I had to find a spot to dive into.

I ran into a Co worker/ Science Teacher and friend Cathy Flynn her husband and her friends that were in town. It was a fun night that was rescued by diving into Grumpy’s who knew?

Another great thing that happened was I first dove into a restaurant named Hai Hai and it looked amazing, but seating was packed except for outdoors, to which it was raining so, that wasn’t going to fly.

So Grumpy’s was right next door, and the rest is history.

I would later return to Hai Hai when I went to the 331 the first week in June. I have photos and footage from the night. It was a night of great performers.

New places and spaces on Nicollet Mall featuring Lumi a Mediterranean restaurant and Strive Books a black owned bookstore with stunning historical locations, both are just steps from each other. I brought a Jacob Lawrence book of art and migration. I had a white wine and sauteed mushrooms with roti bread…It was a perfect time to spend downtown MPLS.
