August 2023 Journal 🏙🌃🎡🌌

August started off and I felt completely drained. Looking for the themes for this month, I realized I did not save money at all this summer, and tracking my expenses via my account summary, I made a list of things that I definately can curb.

1. Eating full entres or cocktails

Once a month fine, every week, bad idea

2.Taking Lyft or Uber everyday, take a walk or public transportation. Keep moving your body.

3. Look for deals, have a budget, and try not to break it. Whatever you need or want, you can find it somewhere cheaper.

4 Cook, food cost money, prepare your own food as much as you can. Host a home get together and cook for friend.

5.Netflix Movie Night? Your paying for it, it may as well pay for itself.

6. Invest in your living space, keep it clean and as clutter free as possible, and add small items that personalize your space.

7. Invest in a good bed, it will change your life. I bought a bedframe that was really affordable on Ebay. It took 3 hours to put it together with my uncle. The feeling of accomplishment is when I get to get in or opt to sleep in, or stay in bed…It’s perfectly legal on weekends.

8 make your own tea, and coffee drinks. I love coffee shops, but that should be real occaisional

9. Go to low cost cultural events and support local artist. One does not have to spend loads of money for culture.

10. Invest in your local community, spend less, get to know your local events through people, have conversations, venture out and explore.

Out at Como to canoe for the first time in my life with Minji and Emma, we ate at the Dock and Paddle Resturaunt before heading out on the lake. We thought the life jackets could be a bit cleaner, but we braved it, and went out anyway.

Initially we wanted to go on the swan boats, but it was 3 of us, and really peddling did not move me. I was at the back of the canoe and learned that I determined the direction of the boat. We worked as a team and stayed out for an hour. Ultimately, it was a very beautiful experience, we had a ton of fun. They were not pictured to respect their privacy, but trust me when I say, we had a wonderful time.

Up on the docket is Community Arts investment. The is a play/musical at Cafe Latte Da, this will be my first play in years, but the play has 2 black cast members, and I would love to see more shows like it, so I will go to check it out.

Love them First, a play at Cafe Latte Da

The play was both funny and emotional. The musical was so beautiful. It did remind me of the years that I worked in education, for all the students you love and get to know. You fight for them to learn, and its not always easy to get through to the children or parents. Children who are staying strong inspite of the odds stacked against them.

I completed a lot of house work over the last few weekends, and plan for the end of August into Early September to be pretty busy.

The State Fair Starts Next Weekend, but I may wait until Thursday of next week, and go to the Mixer of Saturday and Sunday.

More to come on all of that.

Today is the musical.

Went to the State Fair with my friend Mariah and her son Sawyer, it was a blast we danced the night away at the Bazaar, after grabbing food and drinks, wich included corn a stick. I hope to go one more time next Thursday.

The next day Friday, and Saturday additions for my Fall Winter upgrades came in the mail.

I started doing upgrades to my wardrobe starting with Summer Spring editions around November 22-May of 23, and just completed Fall/Winter and closet re-organization. Today I have to block of 3 hours to clean the kitchen, bathroom and floors. Also planning decluttering in September, more events, record store chronicals.

August blended into September, more to come on the September post. I appreciate all your support and I pray you have a wonderful day and life. Until next time!
